Origin work on a different model to most businesses in the marketplace. The traditional way of doing things is to rent an office and recruit a development team full of the many skills you need to develop mobile apps.
However recruiting a team in the UK or US can result in the apps or custom websites being prohibitively expensive. Origin have a solution.
As well as having UK based designers Origin have a development team in other parts of the world whom we have been working together with for years who provide valued expertise. We don’t believe clients are too worried about where a developers desk is who they will never need to meet as long as they are able to meet with the design team and other key personnel face to face.
Our approach…
In addition to our UK based Design Team who are skilled on UI design and UX for both websites and Apps, we have an Offshore Team delivering back end development. In this way can pass on huge savings to our clients.
Our approach is different, we design and develop the front end in React Native so we don’t need an Android Developer and IOS Developer producing there own version of the code. React Native enables to produce 95% of the code using the same code base, ie one person instead of 2! The last 5% is where we need separate specialists to develop fully Native Components.
How we deliver affordability…
Typically a development team based solely in the UK will bill all its hours roughly £60 per hour. For a typical App project that would be around 480 hours at £60 per hour = £28800 for a small project involving Backend developer Laravel and Android Developer and IOS Apple Developer. Four man team is usually the minimum you need to design and develop Apps thats without a website!
This results in a third of hours saved in addition to those being saved through lower wage costs. In addition to 50% saving on hourly rate at a rate of £30 per hour average development hours.
Lo to No Code
Traditionally we have worked with staff offshore when needed, however increasingly the availability of low code and no code development tools has meant that we are able to get to market fast and to carry the design and development in-house. This gives a number of advantages when editing or making changes to the design or function of Apps.
With Origin we require less hours 360 and at a lesser rate average of £30 per hour = £10,800. More than half the cost. For a small App project that figure would be less again around £7,000!
